Look Up! It’s a Bird.. It’s a Plane.. It’s Nature Airliner!

This month’s SeeJoeRock.com Featured Artist hails all the way from Tokyo, Japan.

Nature Airliner evolved out of an unlikely husband-and-wife collaboration. Japanese photographer Eiko (vocals) had never sung professionally before, and never dreamed of being a singer. Canadian musician Laurier (guitar) played various instruments for innumerable indie and punk bands.

In the summer of 2010 they joined forces to start playing unplugged shows of Laurier’s unreleased songs which suited Eiko’s voice.

The first single, “Merry Christmas (to Our Loved Ones)” was released November 1st, 2010, and the first EP was launched November 15th, 2010.
Their second single, “12 Billion Arms” was released on June 21st, 2011.

In September of 2011 they were selected for performances at Kansai Music Conference 2011, including the grand finale at the Osaka Museum of History.

And the rest.. is history!

Get Your Folk On with Jetty Rae!

Recently sharing the stage with Sarah McLachlan, Miranda Lambert, and Courtyard Hounds at Lilith Fair in Detroit,

Our newest featured artist Jetty Rae takes over the SeeJoeRock spotlight!

Jetty Rae is a singer and songwriter originally from Northern Michigan and has been singing, touring, and recording for the past six years.

She released her first full-length album “Blackberries” in 2007, and in November 2009 she released her first EP entitled “Nobody”. Slowly but surely Jetty Rae’s voice has begun to make ripples in the congested but exciting independent music scene.

And most recently, as mentioned above, she shared the stage with Sarah McLachlan, Miranda Lambert, and Courtyard Hounds at Lilith Fair in Detroit where she was handpicked by Sarah McLachlan and Terry McBride as the featured local artist.

Based out of New Orleans LA, Dodging Cathrine first stepped onto the scene playing pop-punk music.

While their style matured from pop to hardcore, Chad Bourg (vocal/drums), Tyler Schouest (vocal/bass), Ryan Bourg (guitar), Charlie Rourke (guitar), and Edward Pina (performance drummer) have made quite a name for themselves.

Having played at Vans Warped Tour ‘09 (with such bands as Underoath, Attack Attack, The Devil Wears Prada, and A Day to Remember) and the New Orleans House of Blues, these eighteen and nineteen year old musicians are sure to have you moving.

Mixing soft melodies and hard music, they deliver energetic performances that are absolute crowd-pleasers.
